Special Note to Readers:
As a mother of an enthusiastic and wonderful reader, named Sasha, I am aware of the influence that books have in shaping a child’s goals and dreams. Reading books allows children to take a magical journey to places in their imaginations, where anything is possible.
I was inspired to write There Once was a Girl Who Loved to Skate: Little Dorothy’s Skating Journey, to honor the sport of figure skating and the joy that it has brought me over the years. It is my desire to inspire others to follow their dreams and do what they love. And I hope that this book encourages young readers to do what is in their hearts.
I wish you all of the best on your journey,
Erika Meyer
Dedication:

There Once was a Girl who Loved to Skate:
Little Dorothy’s Skating Journey
Book 1 Summary:
This book is a heartwarming story about a young skater named Little Dorothy, who is inspired to ice skate after watching her grandmother’s tracing of a Figure Eight, (a vintage skating maneuver for which the sport of figure skating is named). She then decides that her dream is to become the best skater she can be, and she is willing to work hard and practice in order to skate her very best. Little Dorothy loves everything about ice skating; and she feels like a fairytale princess when she wears her elegant, flowing skating dresses. And when she laces up her skating boots, she is magically transformed into the girl who loves to skate.
