Steven Lu is delighted to illustrate his first children’s book publication that just happens to be about ice skating. He hopes this is only the first of many. He started skating at the “old” age of thirteen and has enjoyed learning the sport in freestyle, ice dance and figures. He is grateful that he has had the opportunity to compete briefly in ice dancing, skate as an apprentice for Ice Theater of New York and coach professionally for recreational skaters of all ages.
He has received his formal education at Pratt University in New York City; majoring in both illustration and design while maintaining his interests in skating.
Over the years, he has worked in production; assisting for two-time Olympian Ice Skater and events producer JoJo Starbuck, events producer Matt Herson at MJ Herson Group, as well as an assistant designer for Ed O’ Dell and Associates. Steven currently lives in Brooklyn, New York and is a licensed registered nurse working for New York Presbyterian Hospital.
He is looking forward to future book projects and is currently working on his private collection of paintings. For more detail click on: (To be announced) He appreciates everyone’s support he has received but most of all from his colleague and friend, Erika.
